Job summary

Smart Solutions in Crawley is seeking an experienced Class 2 Dustcart Driver to join our busy waste and recycling operation.

This full-time daytime role runs Monday to Friday with overtime available; you will operate a Class 2 refuse collection vehicle, perform daily checks, and ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.

Applicants must hold a valid HGV Class 2 license, CPC, and tachograph card, and have prior Class 2 driving experience.

• Valid HGV Class 2 / Category C licence.
• Valid Driver CPC.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.

Responsibilities

• Drive a Class 2 dustcart safely and efficiently.
• Complete scheduled waste and recycling collections.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
• Work closely with loaders to complete collection rounds.
• Ensure all waste is collected and transported safely.
• Follow planned routes and collection schedules.
• Complete relevant paperwork and driver documentation.
• Follow all Health & Safety and site procedures.
• Maintain a professional manner when dealing with customers and the public.

Location: Crawley, West Sussex, RH11
Pay Rate: £16.72 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 06:00 – 15:00
Job Type: Ongoing
Overtime: Available

Smart Solutions are recruiting for an experienced Class 2 Dustcart Driver to join a busy waste and recycling operation in Crawley.

This is an ongoing position working Monday to Friday, carrying out commercial and/or residential waste collections using a Class 2 refuse collection vehicle.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive a Class 2 dustcart safely and efficiently
• Complete scheduled waste and recycling collections
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects
• Work closely with loaders to complete collection rounds
• Ensure all waste is collected and transported safely
• Follow planned routes and collection schedules
• Complete relevant paperwork and driver documentation
• Follow all Health & Safety and site procedures
• Maintain a professional manner when dealing with customers and members of the public

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 2 / Category C licence
• Valid Driver CPC
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Previous Class 2 driving experience
• Dustcart or waste industry experience preferred
• Reliable and able to work as part of a team
