Job summary

Palletforce Logistics is seeking a Class 2 Driver in Erith for a full-time role. You will deliver goods safely, operate a handheld terminal, and maintain vehicle standards while ensuring timely and accurate paperwork.

Flexible working hours may be discussed to fit your availability, including weekends where required. The ideal candidate holds a Class 2 licence with CPC and tachograph card, 12 months of HGV/LGV experience, and strong geographical knowledge.

Qualifications

• Class 2 Driving Licence (C+E), Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• HGV/LGV Class licence with 12 months experience; CPC training completed.
• Minimum 6 months experience in similar role; refrigeration/multi-drop beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Operate handheld terminal to record data accurately.
• Deliver goods to various locations and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
• Drive Class 2 vehicle safely, conduct daily vehicle checks for roadworthiness.
• Communicate issues to transport office promptly and manage time to meet schedules.
• Ensure paperwork is completed and returned to transport office.

THE ROLE

Our drivers are one of the most important roles within Palletforce Logistics, and as a fully qualified Class 2 Driver, you will have the important role of delivering products to our customers whilst being safe and taking care of yourself on the road.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

• Use of a handheld terminal to record accurate information
• Occasionally driving 3.5t vehicles during peak periods
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicle
• Driving Class 2 vehicle safely and responsibly
• Ensure you do your daily vehicle checks to make sure your vehicle is roadworthy and safe to use
• Ensure you inform the transport office of any problems in good time i.e. if you're running late
• Fit to drive; considering alcohol intake, daily rest, prescribed/over the counter medication that could affect your ability to drive
• To ensure you arrive at your job on time
• Excellent customer service
• Maintain health and safety standards
• Operating in a safe way, following all road rules
• Ensure all paperwork is correct, completed and returned to the transport office
• Delivering goods to various locations

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• Qualifications. Class 2 Driving Licence (C+E), Valid CPC, Digital Tacho Card. HGV/LGC Class licence with 12 months experience. Valid Digital Tachograph card is essential
• Experience. Previous experience is essential. Refrigeration and multi drop experience would be beneficial. Will have completed a CPC Training Course and have a strong geographical and logistical knowledge. Minimum experience: 6 months
• Communication. You will have good communication skills, spoken and written.
• Influence & Persuasion. Build good working relationships with work colleagues and our customers.
• Planning & Organisation. You will be adaptable in your start and finish times, have a good work ethic, and the ability to prioritise workloads and meet tight deadlines. Be able to work weekends
