Job summary

A Star Recruitment is seeking experienced Class 1 Tramper Drivers for ongoing general haulage work in the UK. The role involves local and longer-distance assignments with overnight tramping, delivering and collecting nationwide, and operating Volvo trucks for varied/general haulage tasks including fridge work.

Applicants should hold a valid Class 1 (C+E) licence, CPC and Digital Tachograph, with prior Class 1 and tramper experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence is required.
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph.
• Previous Class 1 driving experience essential.
• Tramper experience preferred.
• General haulage experience advantageous.
• Dock/port and fridge experience beneficial but not essential.
• Reliable and professional attitude expected.
• Good communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Drive Class 1 (C+E) Volvo trucks for general haulage.
• Handle refrigerated trailer work when required.
• Undertake overnight tramping and nationwide deliveries/collections.
• Complete vehicle checks and paperwork.
• Work safely within drivers' hours and tachograph rules.
• Maintain communication with transport team and customers.

Class 1 Tramper Driver - General Haulage

Position: Class 1 (C+E) Tramper Driver

Pay Rate: £19.00 per hour all-in

Work Type: Ongoing / Full-Time

Vehicle: Volvo Trucks

Type of Work: Mixed General Haulage, Refrigerated Transport & Immingham Dock Work

The Role

Our Blue chip Customer is looking for experienced Class 1 Tramper Drivers for ongoing work.

This is a varied general haulage role, with a mixed bag of work including refrigerated transport . Drivers will be required to undertake both local and longer-distance work, with overnight tramping as part of the role.

Duties

• Driving Class 1 (C+E) Volvo trucks
• General haulage and varied transport work
• Refrigerated trailer work when required
• Overnight tramping
• Deliveries and collections nationwide
• Completing vehicle checks and paperwork
• Working safely and within drivers' hours and tachograph regulations
• Maintaining good communication with the transport team and customers

Requirements

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence
