Job summary

The Best Connection Group in Peterborough is seeking an experienced Class 1 Shunter Driver for regular, long-term night shifts. This role starts at 22:00 and finishes at 08:00, with competitive pay and reliable night work.

You will shunt trailers in the yard, carry out checks, and stay in touch with the transport team to keep operations smooth. A Class 1 (C+E) licence, CPC and Digi Tacho Card are required; previous shunting is preferred.

Qualifications

• Class 1 (C+E) licence required.
• CPC and Digi Tacho Card required.
• Previous shunting experience is desirable.
• Good communication and safety awareness essential.

Responsibilities

• Shunt trailers safely and efficiently around the yard.

We're currently seeking an experienced Class 1 Shunter Driver to work for a busy transport operation in

Peterborough. This is a

regular, long-term position offering excellent rates of pay and consistent night shifts.

The Role:

• Shunting trailers safely and efficiently around the yard
• Working as part of a busy night operation
• Carrying out vehicle checks and ensuring trailers are positioned correctly
• Communicating with the transport team to maintain a smooth flow of work

Start: 22:00pm

Finish: 08:00am

Pay Rates:

£19.08 per hour

£27.26 per hour overtime after 40 hours

Requirements:

• Valid

Class 1 (C+E) licence

CPC and Digi Tacho Card

Previous shunting experience is highly desirable

Good communication and safety awareness
