Job summary

The Best Connection Group in Peterborough is seeking an experienced Class 1 Shunter Driver for regular, long-term night shifts. This role starts at 22:00 and finishes at 08:00, with competitive pay and reliable night work.

You will shunt trailers in the yard, carry out checks, and stay in touch with the transport team to keep operations smooth. A Class 1 (C+E) licence, CPC and Digi Tacho Card are required; previous shunting is preferred.

Qualifications

• Class 1 (C+E) licence required.
• CPC and Digi Tacho Card required.
• Previous shunting experience is desirable.
• Good communication and safety awareness essential.

Responsibilities

• Shunt trailers safely and efficiently around the yard.
• Work as part of a busy night operation.
• Carry out vehicle checks and ensure trailers are positioned correctly.
• Communicate with transport team to maintain flow of work.
