Job summary

Sammons Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a Class 1 Driver for a permanent role in Manchester. The job involves delivering orders, multi-drop runs (roughly 12–15 per day), and supporting warehouse operations. You will operate Class 1 vehicles, handle pallets, and maintain safety standards.

The role requires a valid UK Class 1 licence, 3+ years of relevant experience, and flexibility for day/night shifts with occasional overnight runs. A forklift licence is a plus but training is available.

Qualifications

• Valid UK Class 1 driving licence.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar Class role.
• Previous manual handling experience.
• Previous multi-drop delivery experience.
• Good IT and database skills.
• Physically and mentally capable of undertaking manual and mechanical work.
• Flexible approach to working days, nights and overnight runs.
• Forklift Truck licence or experience would be beneficial, although training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Delivering customer orders in line with schedules and customer requirements.
• Completing multiple-drop deliveries, typically around 12-15 drops per day.
• Operating Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Carrying out handballing and breaking down palletised deliveries when required.
• Packing and loading vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Ensuring vehicles and loads remain safe, secure and roadworthy.
• Completing all relevant delivery and warehouse administration.
• Supporting warehouse operations and working closely with the logistics team.
• Operating FLT equipment where appropriately trained.
• Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety within warehouse and fleet environments.
• Completing overnight runs and early morning starts as required.

Are you an experienced Class 1 Driver looking for your next permanent role within an established and ever-growing business?

We are currently recruiting for a Class 1 Driver to join a logistics operation based in Manchester.

This is a fantastic permanent opportunity for an experienced driver who is comfortable with multiple-drop deliveries, manual handling and rotating day and night shifts.

Alongside driving responsibilities, you will also support the wider warehouse and logistics operation when required.

What's on Offer

• Job type: Full-time, permanent
• Hours: 45 hours per week across 5 working days. Alternative days and nights plus OT
• Location: Manchester
• Salary: £40,000 per annum, plus £24 overnight allowance per night
