Job summary

People Solutions is recruiting HGV Class 1 Drivers for trunking and shunting roles at East Midlands Gateway and Rocester. The role offers Monday–Friday work, morning or afternoon shifts, with permanent opportunities for suitable candidates.

Earn £17.08–£21.35 per hour, with weekly pay, overtime, and long-term prospects. Shifts include 04:00–06:00 start for mornings and 14:00–16:00 for afternoons, with modern equipment and on-site facilities.

Qualifications

• UK Category C+E driving licence is essential.
• Driver CPC card required.
• Digital Tachograph card required.
• Minimum six months continuous HGV Class 1 experience.
• No more than six penalty points for minor infringements.

Responsibilities

• Safely operating Category C+E vehicles.
• Complete 3–5 trunk runs per day when trunking.
• Move yard and depot-to-depot on shunting operations.
• Operate curtain-sider trailers and secure loads.
• Make timely deliveries to various destinations.
• Communicate effectively with transport team.
• Adhere to safety, hours, and road transport regulations.
