Job summary

The Best Connection is seeking experienced Class 1 drivers to join our client in Southampton. This is an ongoing role with 10 hour minimum shifts and potential progression to full-time contracts. Pay is £17.00-£18.50 per hour, with Monday to Friday patterns and start times between 04:00 and 07:00.

Responsibilities include delivering/collecting containers from the dock to local companies or trunking up to the Midlands. Dock experience is essential and a driving assessment will be required.

Qualifications

• Full UK Class 1 licence required.
• CPC & DIGI required; DP World Card preferred.
• Container experience essential and docks exposure.
• Must complete driving assessment and induction.

Responsibilities

• Delivering and collecting containers from the dock to local companies or trunking up to Midlands.
• Day or Night trunking up to the midlands with general haulage; curtain side double decker work.
• No hand-balling involved.
• Vehicle checks and securing containers.
• Reporting any issues to the night manager.
• Start time varies by route/run.
