Job summary

Turners (Soham) Ltd is recruiting LGV Class 1 container drivers for our Southampton depot. Shifts are mainly Monday–Friday, with possible nights out.

You will work with planning, training teams and other drivers in a supportive environment while meeting Tachograph and Working Time rules. We value learnable and motivated drivers, welcome experienced staff and offer a driving-style bonus, overtime, weekly pay, a company uniform, tax-free allowances, a modern fleet, a pension plan and paid CPC

Qualifications

• Full HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence with 1 year preferred.
• Driver CPC and Tacho Card are mandatory.
• 35 hours CPC required; container experience preferred.
• Good written/spoken English is essential; PPE includes safety boots.

Responsibilities

• Drive LGV Class 1 containers from Southampton depot.
• Comply with Tachograph and Working Time Directive at all times.
• demonstrate professionalism and excellent customer service.
• Coordinate with planning and training teams and fellow drivers.

Turners (Soham) Ltd is the UK’s largest privately owned transport Company and we are looking to recruit LGV Class 1 Container Drivers in our Southampton depot. Shifts are mainly Monday-Friday pattern - Tramping.As a professional driver working for Turners Container Division, you will be required to demonstrate skill, professionalism and excellent customer service. Working for our container division you will develop close working relationships with your planning and training team, alongside other drivers and staff members in a close knit organisation that strives to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for all. The haulage industry is one of varying hours and timings, and will require potential candidates to be flexible in their approach to start and finish times. Shift lengths do vary but you will be expected to comply with the Tachograph & Working Time Directive regulations at all times. As a large and ever expanding company, Turners can take on new drivers with limited experience. All we ask is you are willing and keen to learn, growing our driving crew with knowledgeable and competent members.
