Job summary

Boughey Distribution is recruiting for a Night Shift HGV driver at the Newcastle-under-Lyme site. You will work on a 5 on, 3 off pattern with start times between 4pm and 10pm, delivering across Cheshire and surrounding areas.

We require a current CPC and tachograph card, and prior Class 1 driving experience. Excellent communication skills are essential to handle customer queries and collaborate with the Boughey team on site.

Qualifications

• CPC and tachograph card held with understanding of driver hours regulations.
• Previous experience driving Class 1 vehicles is essential.
• Excellent communication skills to handle customer queries at delivery and on-site with the Boughey team.

Responsibilities

• Complete vehicle checks at the start and end of each shift in line with HGV driving rules.
• Ensure safe and prompt delivery of goods across Cheshire and surrounding areas.
• Manoeuvre trucks into loading/unloading positions, secure loads, and assist in yard work as needed.

Day to Day

• Complete vehicle checks at the start and end of each shift –complying withall HGV driving rules throughout your shift to ensure there is no unnecessary damage to vehicles
• Ensure safe and prompt delivery of goods across Cheshire and surrounding areas
• Manoeuvring trucks into loading and unloading positions, ensuring loads are secured, provide support in the yard including handball or pump truck deliveries where required
