Job summary

DFDS is seeking a Class 1 HGV Driver to join our team for night shifts, delivering fresh fish as part of the cold chain operation. You will drive Class 1 vehicles, manage temperature controls and complete required paperwork.

Candidates must hold a HGV Class 1 licence with Driver CPC and tachograph card; manual handling is expected. Training is provided where needed, and safety is paramount.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 licence and Driver CPC.
• Tachograph card required.
• Ability to perform manual handling.
• Experience with cold chain or fresh produce is an advantage.

About The Role

Working Monday to Thursday nights, starting around 17:00, you’ll be responsible for transporting fresh fish as part of our cold chain operation.

You Will Be Responsible For

• Driving Class 1 vehicles on scheduled night routes
• Handling chilled goods and monitoring temperature requirements
• Performing daily walkaround checks and reporting any issues
• Physically unloading goods using pump trucks and moving pallets
• Completing delivery paperwork accurately
• Following all road transport and tachograph regulations

About You

You’ll need a valid HGV Class 1 licence, Driver CPC, and tachograph card. Physical fitness is important as the role involves manual handling. Experience with cold chain or fresh produce is an advantage, but training will be provided. A professional attitude and commitment to safety are essential.
