Job summary

DFDS A/S in the United Kingdom is seeking a Class 1 HGV Driver to operate on scheduled night routes, starting around 17:00, Monday to Thursday, transporting fresh fish as part of our cold chain. You will ensure product integrity and compliance with tachograph rules while maintaining high safety standards.

You will drive Class 1 vehicles, monitor temperature, perform checks, unload pallets, and complete paperwork accurately, with training provided for cold chain procedures and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 licence, Driver CPC and tachograph card.
• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling.
• Experience with cold chain or fresh produce is advantageous; training will be provided.

About the role

Working Monday to Thursday nights, starting around 17:00, you’ll be responsible for transporting fresh fish as part of our cold chain operation.

• Performing daily walkaround checks and reporting any issues
• Physically unloading goods using pump trucks and moving pallets
• Completing delivery paperwork accurately
• Following all road transport and tachograph regulations

About you

You’ll need a valid HGV Class 1 licence, Driver CPC, and tachograph card. Physical fitness is important as the role involves manual handling. Experience with cold chain or fresh produce is an advantage, but training will be provided. A professional attitude and commitment to safety are essential.
