Job summary

DFDS A/S is seeking a Class 1 HGV Driver to join our team in Inverness. You will transport refrigerated goods, operate refrigerated trailers, and ensure temperature control and accurate delivery logs are maintained. You will also communicate with staff and customers and deliver excellent service.

Ideal candidates hold a full Class 1 licence, DIGI and CPC cards, and demonstrate strong communication skills, with a focus on safe handling of perishable goods. Diversity is valued by the team.

Qualifications

• Full UK or valid driver’s licence for Class 1 vehicles.
• Valid DIGI card and CPC card.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 1 refrigerated trucks in compliance with laws and company policies.
• Monitor and maintain temperature controls during transit to protect perishable goods.
• Communicate delivery schedules and issues with transport staff and customers.
• Provide excellent customer service during deliveries.

About the role

You will be transporting refrigerated goods to various destinations, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to safety protocols. Your role will involve operating refrigerated trailers, monitoring temperature controls and maintaining accurate delivery logs.

You will be responsible for:

• Safely operate Class 1 vehicles, adhering to traffic laws and company policies
• Monitor and maintain proper temperature controls during transit
• Communicate effectively with transport staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise
• Providing excellent customer service.

About you

You will need a full Class 1 Driving Licence, valid DIGI card, valid CPC card. Good understanding of temperature control systems and safe handling practices of perishable goods is desirable but not essential. Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication, interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.
