Job summary

Manpower UK is recruiting for a Class 1 Driver in Rochester, offering an hourly rate of £21.99–£25.12. The role is temporary and ongoing with various shifts.

You will join a nationwide logistics operation, delivering reliably and safely across distribution centres and customer sites. As a Class 1 driver, you will perform daily vehicle checks, ensure compliance with driver regulations, and maintain excellent communication with the operations team.

Qualifications

• Valid UK C+E driving licence.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• No more than 6 penalty points and no serious driving endorsements.
• 1 year previous HGV driving experience in a logistics environment.
• Strong understanding of UK road transport legislation and vehicle safety.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Professional, reliable and customer-focused.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 1 vehicle on planned routes between distribution centres and delivery locations.
• Transport mail, parcels and freight efficiently while meeting delivery schedules.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
• Load and unload vehicles safely while ensuring the security of all goods.
• Complete delivery paperwork and electronic records accurately.
• Work independently while maintaining communication with the operations team.
• Follow road transport legislation, health and safety regulations and company policies.
