Job summary

Manpower UK is recruiting for a Class 1 Driver in Chelmsford for temporary, ongoing assignments with a leading UK logistics organisation. Earn £21.99–£25.12 per hour on varied shifts, with opportunities for regular work and competitive earnings.

The role involves operating a Class 1 vehicle on planned routes, loading/unloading, and maintaining delivery schedules, while adhering to tachograph rules and health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Valid UK C+E driving licence.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• No more than 6 penalty points and no serious driving endorsements.
• 1 year ofClass 1 driving experience in a logistics environment.
• Good understanding of UK road transport legislation and vehicle safety.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Professional, reliable and customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 1 vehicle on planned routes between distribution centres and delivery locations.
• Transport mail, parcels and freight efficiently while meeting delivery schedules.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects per procedures.
• Load and unload vehicles safely and secure goods.
• Complete delivery paperwork and electronic records accurately.
• Work independently while maintaining communication with the operations team.
• Follow road transport legislation, health and safety regulations and company policies.
