Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is seeking a Class 1 Day Driver in the Rutland area. You will deliver palletised freight using curtain-sided articulated vehicles, with typical Monday to Friday shifts starting around 06:00–06:30. Benefits include a tax-free meal allowance and holiday entitlement, plus a group profit share and Medicash; ADR qualification would be advantageous.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Previous Class 1 driving experience.
• Experience with curtain-sided trailers would be advantageous.
• Good understanding of Driver Hours Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Complete deliveries and collections of palletised general haulage.
• Safely operate Class 1 articulated vehicles, returning to the depot daily.
• Ensure loads are secured and transported safely.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and defect reporting.
• Maintain accurate delivery paperwork and records.
• Provide a professional service to customers at collection and delivery points.
• Comply with Driver Hours, Working Time Directive, and road transport legislation.
• Maintain high standards of vehicle care and road safety.

Location: Rutland Area

Salary: £14.10 - £14.50 per hour

Due to continued growth, our client, a leading logistics and general haulage business, is seeking experienced Class 1 Day Drivers to join their transport team, delivering palletised freight using curtain‑sided articulated vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete deliveries and collections of palletised general haulage
• Safely operate Class 1 articulated vehicles, returning to the depot daily
• Ensure loads are secured and transported safely
• Complete daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
• Maintain accurate delivery paperwork and records
• Provide a professional service to customers at collection and delivery points

Requirements
