Job summary

Sammons Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for a permanent Class 2 Driver based in Manchester. The role involves nationwide deliveries with a mix of day and night work and occasional warehouse support.

Hours are 45 per week across five days, with OT options. Salary is £36,800 per annum plus £24 overnight allowance per night. Prioritises safe driving, efficiency and accurate deliveries with occasional warehouse duties.

Qualifications

• Clean UK Class 2 driving licence.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar Class 2 driving role.
• Manual handling experience.
• Good IT and database skills.
• Flexible approach to working days, nights and overnight runs.

Responsibilities

• Complete nationwide deliveries to wholesale customers.
• Carry out 12–15 delivery drops per day.
• Operate Class 2 vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload vehicles including manual handling.
• Ensure deliveries are on time and accurate.
• Support warehouse operations with picking/packing as required.
• Use company systems and databases as required.
• Complete overnight runs and early morning starts when scheduled.
• Maintain high health & safety standards across warehouse and fleet.

Are you an experienced Class 2 Driver looking for your next permanent role within an established and ever-growing business?

We are currently recruiting for a Class 2 Driver to join a logistics operation based in Manchester.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced driver looking for a permanent position involving nationwide deliveries, with a mixture of day and night work. Alongside driving responsibilities, you will also provide support within the warehouse when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Completing scheduled nationwide deliveries to wholesale customers
• Carrying out approximately 12-15 delivery drops per day
• Operating Class 2 vehicles safely and efficiently
• Loading and unloading vehicles, including manual handling
• Ensuring deliveries are completed accurately and on time
• Supporting warehouse operations with occasional picking and packing duties
• Using company systems and databases as required
• Completing overnight runs and early morning starts when scheduled
• Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety across the warehouse and fleet operation

Skills, Experience and Other Requirements

• Clean UK Class 2 driving licence
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar Class 2 driving role
• Previous manual handling experience
• Good IT and database skills
• Physically and mentally capable of undertaking manual and mechanical work
• Flexible approach to working days, nights and overnight runs
• Forklift Truck licence or experience would be beneficial, although training can be provided
