Job summary

Proman in the United Kingdom is recruiting Class 1 (C+E) Drivers for ongoing work based in Skelmersdale. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy transport operation specialising in secondary distribution, with regular work and consistent shift patterns available.

As a Class 1 Driver, you will deliver roller-caged goods to customer locations, load and unload with tail lifts, complete daily vehicle checks, and report defects while maintaining professional standards and strong communication

Qualifications

• Hold a valid Class 1 (C+E) Licence.
• Hold a valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Minimum 12 months' Class 1 driving experience.
• Sound understanding of Drivers' Hours and Working Time Regulations.
• Flexibility to cover store deliveries and trunking work when required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver roller-caged goods to customer locations.
• Load and unload using tail lifts.
• Complete daily vehicle checks per procedures.
• Accurately complete delivery paperwork and report defects.
• Maintain communication with the transport team during shifts.
• Represent the business professionally at customer sites.

Job description

We are currently recruiting Class 1 (C+E) Drivers for ongoing work based in Skelmersdale. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and dynamic transport operation specialising in secondary distribution, with regular work and consistent shift patterns available.

Class 1 Driver Pay Rates

AM Starts (03:00 - 08:00)

• £20.00 per hour
• £22.42 per hour including holiday pay

PM Starts (15:00 - 20:00)

• £22.00 per hour
• £24.66 per hour including holiday pay

Class 1 Driver Shift Patterns Available

• 4 on 4 off
• 5 on 3 off

The Class 1 Driver Role

As a Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for completing store deliveries, ensuring goods are delivered safely, efficiently and professionally.

• Delivering roller-caged goods to customer locations
• Loading and unloading using tail lifts
• Completing daily vehicle checks in line with company procedures
• Accurately completing delivery paperwork and reporting defects
• Maintaining communication with the transport team throughout your shift
• Representing the business professionally at customer sites

What We're Looking For

Applicants must:

• Hold a valid Class 1 (C+E) Licence
• Hold a valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• Have a minimum of 12 months' Class 1 driving experience
• Have a sound understanding of Drivers' Hours and Working Time Regulations
• Be flexible to cover both store deliveries and trunking work when required
