Job summary

Manpower (United Kingdom) is recruiting reliable Class 1 Drivers for ongoing temporary roles in Thurrock. You will operate HGVs on planned routes between distribution centres and delivery locations, ensuring timely deliveries and safe cargo handling.

Join a nationwide logistics operation offering regular work, 21.99–25.12 per hour, and access to wellbeing resources and discounts. Must hold UK C+E licence with CPC and Tachograph card, and have up to 6 penalty points or less.

Qualifications

• Valid UK C+E driving licence and CPC with Tachograph
• Experience driving Class 1 vehicles preferred
• Good knowledge of UK road transport regulations

Responsibilities

• Transport mail, parcels and freight efficiently while meeting delivery schedules.

What you'll be doing

• Safely operate Class 1 vehicle on planned routes between distribution centres and delivery locations.
• Transport mail, parcels and freight efficiently while meeting delivery schedules.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects in line with company procedures.
• Load and unload vehicles safely while ensuring the security of all goods.
• Complete delivery paperwork and electronic records accurately.
• Work independently while maintaining excellent communication with the wider operations team.
• Follow all road transport legislation, health and safety regulations and company policies.

What we're looking for

• Valid UK C+E driving licence.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• No more than 6 penalty points and no serious driving endorsements.
• 1 years previous Class 1 driving experience within a logistics or distribution environment.
• Strong understanding of UK road transport legislation and vehicle safety.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Professional, reliable and customer-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
