Job summary

Driver Support Services is seeking experienced Class 1 HGV Drivers to join our team on a busy general haulage contract across the UK. The successful drivers will be responsible for safe and timely deliveries and collections, maintaining high safety and customer service standards.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence is mandatory.
• Driver CPC qualification required.
• Digital tachograph card required.
• Previous HGV Class 1 driving experience preferred.
• General haulage experience is advantageous.
• Good knowledge of UK roads and transport regulations.

Responsibilities

• Drive Class 1 (C+E) vehicles safely and responsibly.
• Complete deliveries and collections in accordance with schedules.
• Carry out vehicle safety checks and report defects.
• Ensure loads are secure and transported safely.
• Complete delivery paperwork and electronic PODs accurately.
• Maintain compliance with drivers' hours and tachograph regulations.
• Communicate professionally with customers, depots and transport teams.
• Keep the vehicle clean and in good working condition.
• Follow all company and site health & safety procedures.

This is a varied role involving general haulage work, with drivers expected to maintain high standards of safety, professionalism and customer service at all times.
