Direct Recruitment (Midlands) Ltd is currently recruiting experienced Class 1 HGV Drivers for ongoing general haulage work to customers across the UK, based in Stone. This curtain-sider role requires driving Class 1 / C+E vehicles, loading, securing loads and completing deliveries with a professional approach.

We offer competitive pay at £14.55 per hour, regular ongoing work, Monday to Friday, and strong transport team support to help you succeed on every shift.

Qualifications

• Valid Digital Tachograph Card

Class 1 HGV Driver - General Haulage / Curtain Sider

We are currently recruiting experienced Class 1 HGV Drivers for ongoing general haulage work.

The role will involve driving curtain-side vehicles, completing deliveries and collections to a range of customers across the UK. This is a varied driving role suited to professional drivers who are confident with general haulage and securing loads correctly.

Duties will include:

• Driving Class 1 / C+E vehicles
• General haulage deliveries and collections
• Operating curtain-side trailers
• Opening and closing curtains safely
• Securing loads using straps, ratchets and appropriate restraints
• Completing vehicle checks and reporting any defects
• Completing delivery paperwork accurately
• Maintaining regular communication with the transport team
• Providing a professional service when dealing with customers
• Complying with drivers' hours, Working Time Directive and road transport regulations

Requirements:

• Full UK Class 1 / Category C+E licence
• Valid CPC
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Previous Class 1 driving experience preferred
• Curtain-side / general haulage experience desirable
• Good knowledge of load security
• Reliable, professional and punctual
• Good communication skills
