Gregory Distribution Ltd is seeking a Class 1 driver for a trunking role based in Cullompton. You will operate curtain-side or flatbed trailers, deliver to pallet-network hubs, complete daily safety checks, and manage paperwork with accuracy.

The ideal candidate holds a UK Class 1 CE licence with a valid DCPC and Digital Tachograph Card, good geography knowledge, and a commitment to excellent customer service and teamwork. The role offers a competitive salary and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• UK Class 1 CE Licence required.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card required.
• Experience delivering loads to client sites is advantageous.
• Tanker experience is desirable but training will be given.
• Customer service mindset and teamwork essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate curtain-side or flatbed trailers for customer deliveries and trunking operations to pallet-network hubs.
• Trunk palletised freight between depots and hubs on planned day routes.
• Ensure freight is loaded, secured, and restrained per network standards.
• Complete pre- and post-shift vehicle safety checks using company device.
• Accurately handle paperwork, scanning and freight verification.
• Maintain clear communication with Transport Team and manage customer expectations.
• Represent the business professionally at customer sites, depots and hubs.
• Engage in ongoing training and development to meet industry standards.

About The Role

• Operating curtain-side or flatbed trailers to collect and deliver customer products, covering C&D multidrop deliveries, Burts shunts, and trunking operations to pallet-network hubs and back.
• Trunking palletised freight between depots and pallet-network hubs on planned day routes.
• Ensuring all freight is correctly loaded, secured, and restrained, using straps, nets, and other appropriate securing equipment in line with network standards.
• Completing thorough daily vehicle safety checks, both pre-departure and end-of-shift, using your company device to maintain full compliance.
• Accurately handling all paperwork, scanning, and freight verification, ensuring smooth hub and depot operations.
• Maintaining regular, clear communication with the Transport Team, providing updates, reporting issues, and helping manage customer expectations.
• Representing the business professionally at all customer sites, depots, and network hubs.
• Participating in ongoing training and development, staying up to date with industry standards and best practice.

Essential Skills And Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Experience of delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
• Tanker experience is desirable but not essential as training will be given.
• Passionate about providing excellent customer service.
