Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd is hiring a driver to unload refrigerated loads, operate handling equipment, and deliver to depots across the Southwest and Midlands. You will drive a modern fleet and provide excellent customer service, with early start shifts and a 5-out-of-7 pattern.

Applicants should hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence, DCPC and Digital Tachograph Card, and be reliable, team-oriented and able to work to deadlines. Right-to-work in the UK is required.

Qualifications

• Hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence and valid DCPC Card with Digital Tachograph
• Demonstrate strong customer service focus and professionalism
• Able to work to deadlines and under pressure
• Confident, polite, and a team player with good geographical knowledge
• Fit, flexible, hardworking and self-motivated

Responsibilities

• Safely unload refrigerated vehicles, up to three deliveries per day
• Operate palletised handling equipment or perform trailer swaps as required
• Drive a modern fleet (Scania and Volvo, under 6 months old)
• Deliver goods to depots across the Southwest and Midlands following schedules
• Provide outstanding customer service in person and over the phone
• Maintain clear communication with the transport team and update on real‑time progress
• Participate in regular training on procedures, safety standards and best practices

About the Role

• Safely unload refrigerated vehicles, typically handling up to three deliveries per day, ensuring goods are managed with care and efficiency.
• Operate palletised handling equipment, such as pump trucks, or perform trailer swaps depending on the shift schedule, maintaining high standards of safety and accuracy.
• Drive a modern, well-maintained fleet of Scania and Volvo vehicles, all under 6 months old ensuring reliability and comfort on the road.
• Deliver goods to depots across the Southwest and Midlands, adhering to planned schedules and route requirements.
• Provide outstanding customer service, engaging professionally with clients both in person and over the phone to represent the company positively.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with the transport team, offering real‑time updates to support smooth operations and manage customer expectations.
• Participate in regular training sessions to stay current with operational procedures, safety standards, and industry best practices.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Experience of delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
