Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd is seeking a Class 1 Casual Driver to collect and deliver customers' products across the UK from Shepton Mallet. The role uses a curtain-sided trailer with a focus on secure load handling and accurate paperwork via a handheld PDA.

Flexible, zero-hours shifts are offered to cover peak periods and holidays, with ongoing training and development opportunities. Nights away are required at times, and excellent route knowledge is valued.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 1 CE licence required.
• Current DCPC Card and UK Tachograph Card.
• Excellent customer service and road safety focus.

About The Role

• Take on the challenge of collecting and delivering customers' products throughout the UK on a curtain-sided trailer.
• Master the art of load security with ratchet straps and part manual handling, ensuring every delivery is safe and secure.
• Leverage a handheld PDA to complete paperwork seamlessly and efficiently.
• Keep in constant contact with the transport team, offering updates on your progress and ensuring our customers' expectations are consistently met.
• Experience the thrill of nights away, making each journey unique and fulfilling.
• Engage in regular training sessions to stay updated with the latest industry standards and best practices, continuously improving your skills.

Rota is flexible and offered on a weekly basis, with drivers contacted in advance to confirm availability. This is a zero/casual hours arrangement to support peak periods, annual leave and unplanned absences.

Essential Skills And Qualifications

• Hold a valid UK HGV Class 1 CE Licence, ready to take on the open road with confidence.
• Possess a current DCPC Card and UK Digital Tachograph Driver Card, ensuring you're always compliant and prepared.
