Job summary

ERS, the UK's largest specialist motor insurer, is recruiting a Claims Technician to join a fast-paced team. You will record new claims, handle telephone enquiries, deal with correspondence and complaints, and authorise payments as appropriate.

You will negotiate settlements efficiently and in line with policy wording, FCA/PRA requirements and service standards, using approved suppliers and maintaining accurate claim estimates.

Qualifications

• Excellent phone manner.
• Confident communication in oral and written form.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Articulate and numerate with good attention to detail.
• Significant focus on delivering a first-class customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer phone calls and correspondence in a professional, courteous and efficient manner.
• Establish the circumstances of any loss and make indemnity/liability/fraud enquiries.
• Negotiate settlement of claims in an efficient and economical manner.
• Maintain accurate estimates of the claim and adjust as needed.
• Ensure use of approved suppliers where appropriate and adhere to policy wording and procedures.
