Job summary

Hill McGlynn Recruitment is seeking an Estimator for cladding, façades and external envelope packages, based from Potters Bar, Hertfordshire. The role focuses on accurate pricing and tender submissions for diverse construction projects.

You will review drawings and specifications, prepare take-offs, negotiate with subcontractors, and work closely with pre-construction and commercial teams to ensure competitive bids and successful handovers.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Estimator in cladding, façades or external envelope works.
• Experience pricing projects from drawings and tender documentation.
• Strong understanding of cladding systems and subcontractor packages.
• Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness.
• Ability to produce accurate take-offs and competitive tenders.

Responsibilities

• Preparing detailed estimates and tenders for cladding, façade and external envelope packages.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, scopes of work and tender documentation.
• Producing accurate take-offs and detailed pricing.
• Obtaining, analysing and negotiating quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Developing competitive and commercially viable tender submissions.
• Identifying project risks and value-engineering opportunities.
• Liaising with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers during the tender process.
• Managing multiple tenders and meeting deadlines.
• Supporting relationships with clients and supply-chain partners.
