Job summary

Building Careers UK Ltd is seeking a Cladding Estimator to join the pre-construction team in Manchester. The role focuses on preparing accurate estimates for cladding, façade and building envelope projects, reviewing drawings and tender documents, and producing detailed cost plans and pricing schedules.

You will obtain quotations from suppliers, identify value engineering opportunities, assess risks, and deliver compliant tender submissions.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Estimator in cladding, façade, or building envelope sectors.
• Strong understanding of façade systems, rainscreen cladding, EWI or remediation projects.
• Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills.
• Experience interpreting drawings and specifications.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet deadlines.
• Qualifications in construction estimating or quantity surveying advantageous.

Our client is a leading specialist contractor operating within the faade and building envelope sector, delivering high-quality cladding, faade remediation, external wall insulation, and fire remediation projects across the UK. Working alongside leading developers, main contractors, housing providers, and public sector organisations, they have built an excellent reputation for delivering technically complex schemes safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

With expertise spanning both new-build and remediation projects, the business continues to experience significant growth, driven by increasing demand across the faade sector. As part of their continued expansion, they are now seeking an experienced Cladding Estimator to join their pre-construction team.

The Role

As Cladding Estimator, you will be responsible for:

• Preparing accurate and competitive estimates for cladding, faade, and building envelope projects

• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation

• Producing detailed take-offs, cost plans, and pricing schedules

• Obtaining competitive quotations from suppliers and subcontractors

• Identifying value engineering opportunities while maintaining quality and compliance

• Assessing commercial and technical risks throughout the tender process

• Preparing comprehensive tender submissions within agreed deadlines

• Working closely with design, commercial, and operational teams

• Supporting client meetings and tender interviews where required

• Building strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors

The Ideal Candidate

The successful Cladding Estimator will have:

• Proven experience as an Estimator within the cladding, faades, roofing, glazing, or building envelope sector

• Strong understanding of faade systems, rainscreen cladding, EWI, or remediation projects

• Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills

• Experience interpreting construction drawings and specifications

• Strong negotiation and communication skills

• The ability to manage multiple tenders and work to tight deadlines

• A proactive, organised, and commercially focused approach

• Relevant construction, estimating, or quantity surveying qualifications would be advantageous
