Job summary

Adler and Allan is seeking a Civils Team Leader - IMR in Stowmarket to oversee drainage crew on site, ensuring safe, compliant workmanship and timely delivery of utility projects.

You will work under the Supervisor, coordinate with engineers, maintain equipment, and uphold high standards while travelling to multiple sites across the region. The role is permanent and involves on-call duties as part of the rota.

Qualifications

• Experience in running small drainage or construction teams.
• CSCS card or equivalent.
• Streetworks qualification (NRSWA).
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Physically fit for manual labour.
• Reliable and able to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Work safely at all times and ensure the safety of all those working around you.
• Comply with the company policies, procedures and risk assessments and method statements.
• Report all accidents, incidents and near misses.
• Attend Stand Downs, Team Briefs and Toolbox Talks.
• Follow instructions from the site supervisor and/or manager to complete tasks efficiently.
• Load, unload and transport materials, tools and equipment as required.
• Attend training and update courses as required.
• Keep the work area clean, organised and free from hazards.
• Record details of work undertaken accurately.
• Operate plant and machinery where trained and certified.
• Represent the company in a professional manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Work closely with team members, engineers and supervisors to coordinate workflow.
• Operate and maintain hand tools and power tools for drainage work.
• Interact with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
• Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
• Be on a works call out rota on a 1-4 basis over a 7-day period.

Lead Operatives are to assist in the delivery of on-site project works to a safe, compliant and to a high standard of workmanship. You will play a vital role in supporting the operational activities necessary for the delivery of utility services to our customers.

The Lead Operative will be responsible to the Supervisor.

Qualifications

About you:

• Previous experience in running small drainage or construction teams.
• CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme or something similar).
• Streetworks qualification (NRSWA).
• Good understanding of health and safety practices on construction sites.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Physically fit and able to carry out manual labour.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel to various sites
• Strong understanding of drainage systems.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
