Adler and Allan in Rochford is seeking a Civils Team Leader - IMR to lead drainage or construction teams on-site, ensuring safe, compliant delivery of utility services. You will follow supervisor directions, coordinate with engineers, and maintain high workmanship standards while meeting project requirements.

The role requires CSCS and NRSWA, driving licence, and strong communication skills. You will work on a 1-4 call-out rota and contribute to a safety-first environment across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in running small drainage or construction teams.
• CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme or equivalent).
• Streetworks qualification (NRSWA).
• Good understanding of health and safety practices on construction sites.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Physically fit and able to carry out manual labour.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel to various sites.
• Strong understanding of drainage systems.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead Operatives assist in delivering on-site project works to a high standard of workmanship while ensuring safety and compliance.
• Report accidents, incidents and near misses and participate in Toolbox Talks.
• Coordinate with the site supervisor/manager to complete tasks efficiently and safely.
• Handle loading/unloading and transport of materials, tools and equipment.
• Record work details accurately and operate plant and machinery where trained.
• Represent the company professionally to ensure customer satisfaction and liaise with clients.

Lead Operatives are to assist in the delivery of on-site project works to a safe, compliant and to a high standard of workmanship. You will play a vital role in supporting the operational activities necessary for the delivery of utility services to our customers.

The Lead Operative will be responsible to the Supervisor.

More about the roles:

• To work safely at all times and ensure the safety of all those working around them.
• To comply with the requirements of the company policies, procedures and relevant risk assessments and method statements.
• To report all accidents, incidents and near misses.
• To attend Stand Downs, Team Briefs and Toolbox Talks.
• Follow instructions from the site supervisor and or manager to complete tasks efficiently.
• Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment as required.
• To attend training and update courses as required.
• Keep the work area clean, organised, and free from hazards.
• To assist with accurately recording details of work undertaken.
• Operate plant and machinery (where trained and certified).
• To represent the company in a professional manner at all times to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Work closely with other team members, including engineers and supervisors, to coordinate workflow and achieve operational objectives.
• Operate and maintain hand tools and power tools required for drainage work.
• Interact with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
• Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
• You will be required to be on a works call out rota on a 1-4 basis- On a 7- day period.
