Job summary

RTL Group Ltd in Norwich, Norfolk, is seeking an experienced Site Agent, Sub Agent or Senior Site Manager to oversee a civils package on a substation project. The role requires strong civil engineering background and proven NEC3 contract experience.

The successful candidate will manage groundworks, RC works, steel frame and cladding activities, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure safe, on-time delivery to programme milestones. A high level of communication and site leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Site Agent, Sub Agent or Senior Site Manager on civil engineering projects.
• Substation or high-voltage infrastructure project experience essential.
• Strong civils background with groundworks and reinforced concrete works.
• Experience with steel frame and cladding packages advantageous.
• Good knowledge of NEC3 contracts, programme management and contractual procedures.
• Ability to read, interpret and manage construction programmes.
• Strong subcontractor management, organisational and communication skills.
• CSCS, SMSTS and First Aid qualifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day delivery of the substation civils package.
• Manage groundworks, reinforced concrete works and associated structural activities.
• Coordinate steel frame erection and cladding works where required.
• Manage subcontractors, site teams and construction activities to ensure works are delivered safely and efficiently.
• Read, interpret and manage construction programmes, ensuring progress is maintained against key milestones.
• Apply a strong understanding of NEC3 contracts, including programme requirements, early warnings and compensation events.
• Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, quality standards and health and safety requirements.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager, engineers and other stakeholders to resolve technical and programme issues.
• Monitor site progress, maintain accurate records and provide regular updates to the project team.
• Ensure all site documentation, RAMS and quality assurance procedures are maintained.

We are currently seeking an experienced Site Agent, Sub Agent or Senior Site Manager to oversee a civils package on a substation project in Norwich.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong civil engineering background and previous substation experience, who can confidently manage site operations, understand project programmes and work with NEC3 contracts.

The ideal candidate will have experience delivering a range of civil engineering works, including groundworks, reinforced concrete (RC) works, steel frame and cladding packages.

• Previous experience as a Site Agent, Sub Agent or Senior Site Manager on civil engineering projects.
• Previous substation or high-voltage infrastructure project experience is essential.
• Strong background in civils, particularly groundworks and reinforced concrete works.
• Experience with steel frame and cladding packages would be highly advantageous.
• Good working knowledge of NEC3 contracts, including programme management and contractual procedures.
• Ability to understand, interpret and manage construction programmes.
• Strong subcontractor management, organisational and communication skills.
• Relevant CSCS, SMSTS and First Aid qualifications preferred.
