Job summary

Carmichael UK in Norwich is seeking an experienced Site Agent to lead on-site civil engineering works for a major infrastructure project. You will manage day-to-day site operations, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure delivery on programme, budget, safety, and quality.

The role requires proven Tier 1 contractor experience, NEC contract knowledge, and strong leadership of engineers, supervisors and labour. SMSTS/CSCS/First Aid are preferred, along with an HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Site Agent or Senior Site Manager in a Tier 1 contractor.
• Strong background delivering civil/infrastructure projects.
• Good understanding of NEC contracts and site management.
• Experience managing subcontractors and direct labour on site.
• Ability to lead teams and drive programme delivery.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Agent to join a leading Tier 1 contractor on a major infrastructure project in Norwich. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile civil engineering scheme, taking responsibility for the safe and successful delivery of works on site.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will lead site teams, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure the project is delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

• Managing day-to-day site operations across civil engineering works.
• Leading Engineers, Supervisors, subcontractors, and site teams.
• Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
• Delivering works in accordance with programme and contractual requirements.

• Good understanding of NEC contracts.
• Experience managing subcontractors and direct labour.
• Ability to lead teams and drive programme delivery.
• SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid qualifications.
• HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline preferred.
