Job description

This role is with a client who provides a design and detailing service for a wide range of clients and schemes both locally and nationally. Their diverse portfolio includes multi-storey residential blocks, new housing schemes, schools, and commercial developments ranging from small individual projects to multi-million-pound schemes.

Responsibilities and duties

Working within a civils team of Senior Engineers, Engineers, and Technicians, the role will be varied and will include:

1. Technical support: Assisting in the preparation of technical drawings, design calculations, and other related documentation (e.g., drawing registers) for civil engineering schemes.
2. Drafting, detailing, and modelling: Using AutoCAD and other design software to produce detailed design drawings and models.
3. Design development: Supporting the design process for infrastructure elements of civil engineering schemes such as roads, drainage, and earthworks, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
4. Quality assurance: Producing clear, well-presented drawings and other engineering documents, and supporting the review and checking of drawings to ensure they meet internal quality standards.
5. Client liaison: Occasionally assisting in client meetings, design team meetings, presentations, and reporting as directed by senior team members.
