Job summary

Amey is offering a Placement Student opportunity in its CAFA team within the Transport Infrastructure Business Unit, based in Crawley. This Civil Engineer Summer Intern role runs 8–12 weeks starting July 2027, at 37.5 hours per week (Mon–Fri, 9:00–17:00), with occasional weekend site work possible.

You will gain hands-on experience in structural assessment, numerical analysis and inspections, with potential to join our Graduate Programme after completing your studies.

Qualifications

• Currently studying for a degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Full UK driving licence, or working towards obtaining one.
• Personal Track Safety (PTS) requirement.

Responsibilities

• Undertake numerical analysis to determine load carrying capacity of structures.
• Propose strengthening and maintenance options.
• Plan and undertake bridge inspections to confirm structural details and condition.
• Develop innovative solutions to enhance inspection and technical capabilities.
• Prepare technical drawings and reports.
