Mott MacDonald Bentley in Newport offers a 12-month placement across design and construction teams within the Thames Water framework. You will gain exposure to live projects, work on real-world tasks, and travel across the region.

The role is suitable for an undergraduate civil engineering student; you will assist in planning, drawings, surveys, and site activities, with mentorship and potential for a permanent role after graduation.

Qualifications

• Must be studying full-time undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering.
• Basic understanding of civil engineering principles and practices.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• A valid driving licence and use of a car is essential.
• Willingness and flexibility to travel to sites across your operational region.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, design, construction, commissioning and completion of projects.
• Assist the Project Leader (Designer) with design preparation and drawings in line with procedures.
• Assist the Site Engineer with setting out structures and pipework using surveying equipment.
• Assist the Site Engineer with QA and ITRs in line with procedures.
• Assist the Site Manager and Site Engineer with on-site safety, health and environment.
• Assist with day-to-day site operations including materials, plant, and delivery tickets.
• Liaise with designers, support teams and supply chains.
• Assist in producing as-built surveys and records.
• Assist in compiling completion documentation.
