Job summary

Avove Utilities is seeking a Civil Engineer to join the Severn Trent Design function. Location options include Derby or Birmingham with flexible hybrid working, permanent contract, and attractive benefits.

You will deliver civil design solutions for water and wastewater projects, support the full lifecycle, and produce technical drawings, calculations and reports while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Health, safety and CDM principles are integral to the role.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering with professional accreditation preferred.
• Experience in water and/or wastewater non-infrastructure design is desirable.
• Proficient in MS Office and AutoCAD with strong reporting skills.
• Excellent communication, organisation and workload management.
• Able to deliver high-quality work to deadlines within a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver civil design solutions for water and wastewater projects across the Severn Trent Water framework.
• Support projects through the full lifecycle from feasibility to commissioning.
• Produce and review technical drawings, calculations, reports and site survey information.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients and stakeholders to develop efficient, compliant solutions.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members.
• Embed health, safety and CDM principles into all design aspects.
