Job summary

South East Water is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our Civils team, delivering vital water infrastructure projects across the South East to ensure safe, clean water for customers.

You will review project scopes, provide technical solutions, produce design drawings and CDM documents, and mentor graduates and apprentices to grow their skills. The role requires independent working, strong stakeholder communication, and site visits to audit works.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or degree in Civil Engineering.
• Experience in a Civil Engineer role with ability to manage own deliverables.
• Strong awareness and understanding of industry standards and specifications.
• Solid understanding of CDM 2015 and how to apply it to projects.
• Experience in design, construction, or maintenance of infrastructure assets.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Review and check project scopes to ensure they achieve the right outcomes.
• Provide technical solutions and support on capital projects, producing design drawings, CDM documents, and job specification packs.
• Check other people's work for technical quality.
• Mentor Graduate Civil Engineers and apprentices to grow their skills.
• Liaise with internal and external teams to get project approvals.
• Visit sites to carry out audits and provide guidance to contractors.
