Job summary

Arup in Cardiff is seeking an Industrial Placement Civil Engineer to support water utilities projects across the UK. You will work as part of an integrated team delivering innovative solutions for raw water catchment, urban drainage, and wastewater treatment improvements.

You'll gain hands-on experience in data analysis, hydraulic modelling, and drawings, while learning from a network of technical specialists in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Studying towards a degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Environmental/Geospatial focus).
• Skills in Microsoft Office, Python, FME, and GIS are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assess large datasets, perform gap analysis and scope future investigation needs.
• Support technical delivery, calculations, drawings and modelling under supervision.
• Keep records of meetings, workshops and technical outputs.
• Communicate and collaborate with internal and external teams; present and review designs.
