Job summary

Manpower UK is seeking a practically minded Civil Engineer to join a national Building Design Practice within a growing Civil Engineering team. The role is non-location specific with the opportunity to work remotely or from any UK office, reflecting flexible working practices.

You will develop skills across civil structures, drainage design, utilities and pavement design, delivering small to medium projects and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team while meeting QA and BIM standards.

Qualifications

  • Honors degree in Civil Engineering (preferred) or equivalent.
  • Working towards ICE chartership.
  • Experience in drainage, utilities, paved and unpaved surfaces, earthworks, access and accessibility.

Responsibilities

  • Delivery of small to medium infrastructure projects as part of a technical design team.
  • Producing designs in line with relevant standards and codes.
  • Providing efficient, high-quality engineering services.
  • Managing own time effectively.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary design team.
  • Complying with QA procedures and BIM standards.

Job description

This position will form part of a national Building Design Practice in a growing Civil Engineering team. The role will be non-location specific with the opportunity to work remotely or within any of our clients UK offices to reflect flexible working practice.

We are looking for a practically minded Civil engineer looking to develop their skills in all markets and build experience in civil engineering structures, drainage design, utilities and pavement design.

Responsibilities

  • Contributing to the delivery of small to medium infrastructure projects as part of a technically focused design
  • Production of designs for projects in accordance with relevant design standards and codes
  • Ensuring the provision of efficient and high-quality engineering services
  • Effectively manage own time
  • Collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary design team
  • Comply with Quality and Technical Assurance Procedures.
  • Be aware of and work in compliance with BIM standards, Digital Plan of Work and the project BIM Execution plan.
  • Info drainage or flow software
  • Civils 3D software
  • 5+ years experience

Requirements

  • Experience working as a Civil Engineer ideally in the Buildings sector.
  • Honors Degree in Civil Engineering (preferred) or HND or equivalent experience.
  • Working towards chartership with the ICE.
  • Experience in the design and analysis of drainage, utilities, paved and unpaved surfaces, earthworks, access and accessibility, construction logistics.
  • Familiarity with current UK design standards and working practices.
  • Good communication and presentation skills, verbal and written (for report writing purposes).
  • Ability to use AutoCAD and Civils 3D. Revit BIM 360 experience is also desirable.
  • Ability to work and collaborate both independently and as part of a multi-discipline team.
  • Embrace new technologies including digital engineering, automation and parametric design.
  • Driving License (desirable)
  • Experience dealing with statutory approvals with regulators
  • Experience on small scale buildings type projects
  • Chartered with ICE
  • Able to work un-supervised
