Job Description: Civil Engineer in Cheltenham

My client is seeking a Civil Engineer to join their team based in Cheltenham. The ideal candidate will possess as much relevant experience as possible, including:

1. BEng/MEng degree in Civil Engineering
2. Industry experience in Civil Engineering design
3. Experience across various project types: commercial, retail, industrial, residential, leisure, etc. (preferably with Civils related to building structures)
4. Proficiency in MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage
5. Ability to develop drainage strategy schemes
6. Experience reviewing levels, earthworks, and cut + fill estimates
7. Knowledge of Civils 3D is preferable
8. Experience in road design, including Section 56 / RCC applications
9. Experience preparing drainage strategy and flood risk reports for planning applications
10. Experience dealing with SEPA
11. Commercial awareness and client interaction experience is advantageous
12. Willingness to gain structural engineering design experience with support and training
13. Friendly, eager to learn, and willing to mentor others
14. Proactive attitude and career progression motivation
15. Alignment with company ethos and culture

Role & Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with Project Engineers, Assistant/Graduate Engineers, Technicians, and Technical staff
2. Ensure design calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, and health and safety compliance meet client and standards requirements
3. Manage and update drawings and documentation in line with Quality Management System
4. Supervise Technicians and Drafting staff activities
5. Participate in client, design team, and site meetings
