Job Description

Are you looking for a remote role? Our client is expanding their team with a fully remote Principal Civil Engineer to support their Civils team.

This role will specialise in residential, commercial, industrial, retail, healthcare and education projects. If you have experience in drainage and infrastructure, then this role could be for you. The role:

• Develop strong working relationships with multiple local authorities and drainage authorities, leveraging these in your daily role.
• Maintain good in-person and verbal communication skills; willingness to attend construction sites and meetings to react to design changes and produce practical solutions.
• Build and develop client relationships that generate potential project opportunities within your areas of expertise.
• Define project briefs, develop strategies, and undertake feasibility studies in response to client needs.
• Coach junior staff and support their professional development.

What you need to succeed

• Broad experience and skills in drainage (including SuDS), highways, infrastructure, and external works across all project phases: concept, planning, preliminary design, technical approval, and construction.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microdrainage is essential; evolving Navisworks skills are also required, with a willingness to further develop these skills.
• A full driving licence is mandatory.
• Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and relevant postgraduate experience in a consultancy environment, with strong knowledge of development and drainage design.
• Experience in designing both major and minor commercial and residential developments, from appraisal to detailed design of infrastructure, external works, and drainage.
