Qualifications

We are seeking a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to join our growing Net Zero Energy Practice. This position is ideally based in Birmingham, with a flexible mix of home-working and office collaboration. We also welcome applicants from other UK locations.

Join AtkinsRéalis to work on transformative projects in the Net Zero market, including electricity transmission, gas and battery storage, green hydrogen, and more. Our work ranges from feasibility studies to detailed design, site surveys, and condition assessments.

Your Purpose:

We seek a versatile engineer who enjoys a variety of tasks, from small projects to large multidisciplinary teams. You will work closely with clients, mentor junior staff, and support our civil and structural team in delivering technical work.

You will build relationships and have a positive impact on clients and colleagues.

Examples of work include:

• Supervising and mentoring team members
• Managing civil/structural engineering projects across design phases
• Pricing and preparing technical proposals
• Assessing existing structures for reuse
• Design coordination with multidisciplinary teams
• Preparing specifications and scope documents
• Leading design capabilities in GTC, India

What you can bring:

Strong communication and supervision skills, along with:

• Master’s degree (MEng/MSc) in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Chartered Engineer, ICE or IStructE membership desirable
• Experience with steel and reinforced concrete design using UK/international codes
• Experience in the electricity supply industry, preferably HV substations, is a plus
