Conwy County Borough Council is seeking a parking enforcement officer to patrol the borough, issue Penalty Charge Notices in line with legislation and council policy, and help keep traffic flowing. You will be the public face on parking matters, offering guidance and information in a courteous, professional manner.
The role suits someone with customer facing experience who can remain calm under pressure and handle contentious situations diplomatically, whether working solo or as part of a team.
Do you have a desire to work outdoors? Do you enjoy interacting with people? Are you calm, composed and resilient? This may be the role for you.
The successful applicant will join a dedicated team providing parking enforcement, aiming to reduce the number of illegally parked vehicles in the borough, and promoting the free flow of traffic. The role involves carrying out patrols throughout the borough on a rota basis, either alone or as part of a team: with the use of a hand held computer you will check that regulations are being followed, and issue Penalty Charge Notices in accordance with legislation and council policy. You will often be the first point of contact for the public, providing guidance on parking matters as well general advice and information; as a representative of the council you will be courteous and professional at all times.
Previous experience in a customer facing role, and proven ability to handle contentious and occasionally volatile situations in a calm and diplomatic manner, will be advantageous.
