This role suits someone who enjoys working outdoors, to act as a high profile 'Council Ambassador' engaging with the public, in a confident and friendly manner, sometimes in difficult situations. The team deal with enquiries from members of the public and in addition to Parking enquiries may support other council departments.
This will involve lots of walking and a good standard of fitness is required so please consider this before you apply. They will need to have a fair and consistent approach towards vehicles contravening the parking restrictions and have the ability to liaise with CCTV, the Police and other Council departments/stakeholders to deal with a variety of anti-social behaviour that may arise in our car parks. Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence.
The Parking Service operates 7 days a week including bank holidays with the main operational hours focusing between 08:00hrs until 18:00hrs with some ad hoc early morning patrols starting 07:00hrs and evenings until 22:00hrs. The job holder will be required to work a shift Rota system during the hours of operation to deliver the service to the district.
The candidate must be confident to work alone with minimal supervision, make decisions without direction at times, reliable, conscientious, self-motivated, flexible and trustworthy.
The job holder will be based in three locations in towns across the district. At times they will be expected to travel between these towns at short notice and therefore a full driving license is required to comply with these requests and operational duties.
