Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Civil Drainage Engineer in Doncaster. You will design drainage systems for residential developments and create surface water solutions, including SuDS and highway layouts, aligning with standards and approvals.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, coordinating with stakeholders and progressing projects from feasibility to detailed design. A civil engineering degree and UK right to work are essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience in a civil engineering consultancy or similar environment.
• Background in residential/housing development schemes.
• Technical knowledge of drainage design, SuDS and surface water attenuation.
• Experience preparing highway layouts and adoptable infrastructure designs.
• A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Practical problem-solving and teamwork.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to commute to Doncaster.
• Existing right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Design drainage systems and prepare drainage strategies for residential developments.
• Develop surface water management solutions including attenuation and SuDS.
• Produce adoptable highway layouts and related infrastructure designs.
• Support project delivery from feasibility through detailed design.
• Ensure designs meet technical standards and approvals.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and external stakeholders.
• Take increasing ownership of project work and support department growth.
