Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Drainage Engineer for the Nottingham office, offering a salary of £27,500–£35,000 per annum. You will join the water management team to contribute to flood risk assessments and SuDS design on development and infrastructure projects nationwide.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Experience in flood risk, drainage and SuDS.
• Familiarity with drainage design software such as MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage.
• Basic knowledge of Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, or other hydrological or hydraulic modelling software.
• Relevant placement, internship or university project experience in civil engineering, drainage, flood risk or water management.
• Full UK driving license and right to work in the UK.
• Live within a commutable distance to the Nottingham office.

Responsibilities

• Assist with flood risk and drainage assessments.
• Support the development of SuDS strategies.
• Contribute to the design and assessment of drainage infrastructure.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations and supporting documentation.
• Develop SuDS management and maintenance plans.
• Liaise with clients, local authorities, water companies and other project stakeholders.
