Job description

Excellent opportunity to join a well-established consultancy offering great scope for progression. Due to a full order book of projects, my client is keen to recruit a senior civil engineer with drainage design experience.

Main Duties

1. Ensure designs are delivered within programme and within the budget provided;
2. Manage resource allocations to ensure team members are fully utilised on the highest priority tasks;
3. Ensure that the requirements of all relevant Authorities and Statutory bodies are incorporated into designs, as appropriate;
4. Undertake and check/authorise design information and reports, providing effective feedback;
5. Encourage innovation and continuous improvement within the team, displaying sound independent judgement;

Essential Requirements/Experience

1. Experience of working on Section 278 and Section 38 highway design projects;
2. Pro-active management skills with confidence to manage teams in accordance with a growing and varied workload;
3. Strong technical skills and experience in a range of highway design environments;
4. Proven project management of highway projects and delivery to programme and budget;
5. Display sound independent judgement;
6. Experience with developing, mentoring, and supervising Highway Design staff;
7. Robust working knowledge of highways Technical documents within the DMRB;
8. Experience managing the development of contract documents in accordance with industry standards.
