Job summary

Trant Engineering Ltd in Southampton is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join our project delivery teams. You will design, manage and deliver moderate complexity civil projects, overseeing scopes, schedules and budgets while mentoring junior staff and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires independence, technical expertise, and strong communication with stakeholders. We value sustainability and professional standards throughout our EPC projects in the UK.

Qualifications

• Higher Education (NVQ+) required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred; Master’s degree advantageous.
• Membership of a Professional Engineering Institution encouraged.
• CSCS Card or SHEA Water Qualification desirable.
• EUSR Water Hygiene Qualification desirable.
• Typically 3–5 years of relevant engineering experience, including project design and coordination.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering principles to design and deliver projects.
• Prepare comprehensive specifications, drawings and project documentation.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior staff.
• Manage scopes, schedules and budgets for projects.
• Communicate with stakeholders and uphold sustainability goals.
