Job summary

Trant Engineering Ltd is seeking a Project Design Manager to lead multidisciplinary design delivery in water and related sectors. Based at our Southampton head office, you will coordinate design teams, manage interfaces with clients and suppliers, and drive H&S and continuous improvement throughout the design lifecycle.

The role requires strong technical capability, excellent communication, and flexibility to travel to site. Hybrid working and career development opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Engineering background in the water sector.
• Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to site as required.
• Desirable: MEng/BEng accreditation; Chartered membership.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design resources across stages to meet design fee estimates and programmes.
• Ensure design safety reviews at key project stages.
• Maintain relationships with Client Project Teams.
• Manage design interfaces with third-party designers and suppliers.
• Review design delivery strategies with Discipline Leads.
• Identify and escalate design changes.
• Champion H&S throughout design and delivery.
• Identify opportunities to improve design delivery processes.
• Uphold the company's core values.
