Job summary

Trant Engineering Ltd is seeking a Site Civil Engineer to lead on-site civil delivery for water and wastewater projects in the South East. You will supervise earthworks, drainage, foundations and structures, review drawings, and coordinate with subcontractors to meet programme and quality targets.

You’ll promote safe work practices, conduct safety audits and maintain site records while supporting handover and commissioning of civil works.

Qualifications

CSCS certification is essential or willingness to obtain.
Hands-on site civil engineering experience with earthworks, drainage, foundations, structures and setting out.
Experience reading and interpreting civil drawings, specs and method statements.
Experience coordinating and supervising subcontractors and site teams.
Experience delivering projects in health, safety, quality and environmental standards on site.

Responsibilities

Supervise and inspect civil works including earthworks, foundations, drainage and retaining structures.
Review drawings, specifications and construction programmes; interpret method statements.
Support setting out and verification of civil works on site.
Identify and report technical issues, non-conformances, or design discrepancies.
Promote safe systems of work and monitor site safety and environmental controls.
Participate in safety inspections, audits and toolbox talks.
Coordinate with project managers, site managers and design teams to support delivery.
Mentor junior engineers and site staff; help implement best practices.
