Job summary

Marks & Spencer plc is seeking an Operations Assistant to support stock, deliveries and essential behind‑the‑scenes work that keeps our stores stocked, clean and ready for customers. You’ll be fast, focused and proactive, moving products with urgency and accuracy.

The role requires flexibility across shifts in a fast‑paced retail environment, including evenings and weekends. You’ll use digital tools to track deliveries and stock, and you’ll be a supportive team player across store functions.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 or older due to health and safety legislation.
• Unsocial premium: +£3.00 per hour for hours between 22:00–06:00.

Responsibilities

• Manage stock and deliveries and undertake vital behind-the-scenes work to keep the store floor full, clean and ready for customers.
• Be fast, focused and proactive to ensure the flow of products moves with urgency and accuracy.
• Work across the wider store as needed and use digital tools to track deliveries and stock efficiently.
• Be a team player, supporting colleagues across store functions and adapting to varying shift demands.

Due to operational requirements, all successful candidates may be asked to work up to full-time hours in the weeks commencing 13th and 20th December.

Being a team player is essential. You’ll be a key cog in a big machine, working across functions and supporting colleagues across the store.

Flexibility is vital. From early morning deliveries to shifting stock late into the day, you’ll adapt quickly to keep things moving.
